Tour To Barbados Called Off – Who Is To Blame?
The Indian football team was to play a friendly match against Barbados and had traveled to West Indies for this purpose. The arrangements were found to be inadequate and the management had to put its foot down and insist on better accommodation and facilities for the tour to continue.
The representatives of the organization managing football in Barbados claim that they satisfied all the demands of the football federation. In fact, the All India Football Federation too was pleased with the new arrangements. However, the new coach of the Indian football team refused to continue and insisted that the tour should be canceled immediately.
Is this a behavior on the part of the football coach justified? On one hand, expecting players to adjust despite having been promised a good place to stay does not make sense. In such a scenario, the football coach cannot be blamed for taking this extreme step. I came across this news when checking the prices of diesel Bristol and became very concerned. The Indian football team, despite its talent, is not ranked very high in the world.
This kind of behavior is only going to spread the word that Indian football team is very arrogant and uncompromising. The last thing we want is for a few more practice tools to be called out simply because of logistical difficulties.
The more India plays better will be its chances of improving its rankings. Perhaps the coach should have understood that discretion is the better part of valor and should have accepted the new arrangements provided they were good enough.
